With everything going on in our nation, I feel a little silly starting to write this post about my weekend of makeup tinkering and mani/pedis and wedding showers. I will carry on and share, though. Having connections to Floridians through social media, I am getting updates from them on how they are doing. Dad and I are watching CNN to keep up with the September 11th memorials and the storm reports.
Friday I went to ULTA to get help with a simple, light makeup routine. Brittany was my makeup consultant. Young and fresh and cute as a button.
She did a quick $10 facial on me with Dermalogica products to prep my face for the makeup. Very nice 🙂 Then the makeup prep began. First, she primed with Smashbox Primer in Light. Then, she used Bye Bye Redness by It Cosmetics in transforming neutral beige. I really liked this product because I have broken capillaries that give me redness on my nose and chin and cheeks. Brittany went on to apply Urban Decay under eye concealer. She then asked if I wanted to try “baking” under my eyes! I said sure, but I found that it created too much crepiness, so we took that off and did some Lorac yellow under the eyes to set the concealer.
Lancôme Renergie Lift foundation came next followed by Tarte smooth operator pressed powder in Light. Too faced Papa Don’t Peach (love that name) blush, Benefit Precisely my brow #1, Lancôme mascara primer, Lancôme Definicils mascara, Smashbox Always Sharp Kohl liner in Sumatra, Smashbox Latte matte lipstick, and Too Faced Hangover 3 in 1 Setting Spray sealed the deal.
I was fairly pleased with the outcome. I’m no beauty queen, and my hair, skin and nails took a beating from the chemo, so I needed some help and I wanted subtle and I think I got that. After ULTA, I raced to the Quality Urgent Care clinic to see what they could do about my cough. Got the works there too! A steroid shot, Zpack, Prednisone and cough syrup. Next stop, a mani/pedi at Van’s Nails on 1604 and Bulverde Rd. Now this may not be a big deal to you, but I don’t do this very often. I guess it just hasn’t been in the budget, or I just did not want to take the time. But, I want to do this more often and I want my husband, Pat, to get the spa pedicure too. I think he would love it. Do your husbands get pedicures??
All of this was kind of in preparation for a wedding shower my friend Sandi and I attended in Waco, TX on Saturday night. It was an awesome couples shower (our hubbies stayed home) with the theme of Tailgating in September and Celebrating in December! I hope to share some pics of the night with you soon.
Thanks for tuning in today, to my recitation of my Friday activities!
As always, I appreciate it if you Like, Share, Comment and Subscribe to my blog! It gets it out to more folks and gives me warm fuzzies!
